Cancellation of the 11th Stage of the Dakar 2009

The day’s special stage has been cancelled. As the weather forcast announces heavy fog on the whole route of the stage and as the timing of the stage cannot be altered due to the crossing of the Andes and the crossing of the border between Chile and Argentina, the organizers have decided to cancel the portion of stage 11 between Copiapo and Fiambala that should have been against the clock. The participants will be getting to the Fiambala bivouac in liaison starting at 8:00 AM.

500,000 spectators at the start! "The madness"

The new Dakar Argentina - Chile 2009, started and there is already the first winner. The Dakar itself as excited about my beginnings in the 80s but in 2009 transferred again to a super factor X.

I like the adrenaline of a self-rising and it releases endorphins, if such an enthusiastic audience around them has. „Vamos Argentina“. It was the madness.

Etienne Lavigne confirmation the Dakar rally 2009 in South America

Patrice Clerc, President of Amaury Sport Organisation and Etienne Lavigne, Director of the Dakar, have announced that the 2009 Dakar would take place in Argentina and Chile from the 3rd to the 18th of January. They promise an amazing course, a 9000 km loop including 6000 of specials between Buenos Aires, Valparaiso and Buenos Aires.
